Fang Xuefu;National Institute of Cultural Development,Wuhan University;
The policy of eliminating pornography and illegal publications has been implemented for nearly 30 years,and has unique and profound influence in China. Based on jurisprudence,this article introduces the origin,development and concept of this policy,and analyzes the contradictions and conflicts in the existing laws that are applicable or related to the policy and measures of eliminating pornography and illegal publications. This paper argues that the traditional media and forms of pornography and illegal publication have gone through or are undergoing profound changes in this rapidly changing Internet age. So,we must strengthen the reform of law-making, justice administration, and law enforcement, and standardize the work of eliminating pornography and illegal publications in accordance with relevant laws to ensure the cultural prosperity and security of our country.
