CeO_2/SiO_2 coated rutile TiO_2 and photocatalytic performance

The CeO_2-SiO_2 coated rutile TiO_2 was prepared by sol-gel method.The influences of slurry concentration,dosage of dispersants,and two kinds of coating agent contents on performance of CeO_2-SiO_2 coated rutile TiO_2 were investigated by orthogonal experiment.The zeta potential,surface morphology,and elements were characterized by nano-ZS,scaning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and EDS.Results showed under conditions of the water bath temperature about 80 ℃,the rotation speed of 600 r/min,the mass fraction of dispersant of 0.1%,the CeO_2 mass fraction of3%,and the SiO_2 mass fraction of 4%,two layers compact and uniform CeO_2 and SiO_2 films on the rutile TiO_2 were confirmed.By the photocatalytic degration of Rhb,the results showed that the films of CeO_2 and SiO_2 enhanced the weather durability of rutile TiO_2.
