Hydrothermal synthesis and capacitive performance of nickel oxide nanospheres

Nanosphere precursor was firstly prepared by hydrothermal method with cinnamic acid as the modifier,nickel nitrate as the nickel source,and urea as the homogeneous precipitating agent.Then nickel oxide nanospheres were obtained by calcination.The samples were characterized and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy,XRD,and EDS etc..The influences of precursor concentration,temperature,and cinnamic acid addition amount on the morphology of the products were investigated.Results showed when the current density was 5 m A/cm~2,the specific capacitance was 323.6 F/g,exhibited a good cyclic voltammetry and cyclic stability.
