Preparation technology of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant by liquid phase chemical method

As one kind of environmentally friendly non-toxic inorganic flame retardant,magnesium hydroxide could be widely used in polymeric materials with the properties of flame retardant,filling and smoke abatement.The flame retardant properties of magnesium hydroxide prepared by conventional method were not satisfactory.The particle size,morphology and dispersion of magnesium hydroxide obtained by special preparation process were effectively controlled.And the flame retardant of the product used in polymeric materials is better.The characteristics and flame retardant mechanism of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant were simply introduced.The research progress of preparation of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant by liquid phase chemical methods,such as precipitation method,reverse precipitation method,hydrothermal method and coprecipitation azeotropic method,was introduced in detail.The development trend of the preparation of magnesium hydroxide flame retardant was also predicted.
