Research progress on comprehensive utilization of deep underground brine resources in western Qaidam Basin

The development of underground brine has a long history,but the research on deep underground brine in the basin has started relatively late.Because of its great prospecting potential,deep underground brine resources have been paid more and more attention,especially in western Qaidam Basin.Recent studies have shown that the western Qaidam Basin had huge reserves of tertiary brine resources,including symbiotic oilfield brine with oil and gas,and underground brine in the sandy gravel.The comprehensive utilization situation of underground brine in typical area of Nanyishan and Heibei concave from two aspects of the resource evaluation process and experimental research was summarized.It was concluded that more efforts should be made to explore the underground brine resources in the western Qaidam Basin and strengthen the scientific and technological researches of comprehensive utilization.
