Experimental investigation of liquid propellant in laser propulsion

Laser propulsion is performed using water and alcohol as propellants with YAG pulse laser of 10 ns. It is found that coupling coefficient of water propellant is up to 2.93×10-3 N/W when laser energy is 85 mJ. For the alcohol,the coupling coefficient is highest with 2.84×10-3 N/W when laser energy is 75 mJ. Furthermore,how to control the flight direction and the influence of ink on the coupling coefficient are investigated.
