Dynamic Programming Linking up with Simulation Approach to Water Resource Systems Optimization

An approach, dynamic programming linking up with simulation technique is presented. The optimization of the water resource systems is performed by discrete differential dynamic programming (DDDP) and the flood routing for lakes, canals, sluices and pumping stations can be done by using simulation technique in the state transition process. The simulation computation for flood regulation of lake performed by using dividing technique is emphasized. This approach can make the model true to life and the solution simple. Its application to planning for an improvement on water resource system of Four-lake Area, Hubei Province is successful.
