Interaction between Local and Overall Buckling of Thin-walled Steel I-Beams under Pure Bedding

This paper deals with the interaction of local and overall buckling in thin-walled steel I-beams under pure bending. A complex finile strip method of buckling analysis is first developed, and the interaction betuveen local buckling of composed plate elements as well as the buckling modes of the beam are analyzed by using this method. Then combined with effective sectcon method, the overall lateral buckling is studied, and through experiment, the theory is verified. Besides, some discussions on the related specification of China are carried out.
