Flow resistance in ice-covered river

A review on current developments of the research of flow resistance in ice_covered river is presented. Contributions on flow resistance, velocity distribution, composite roughness coefficient and measure methods in last decades are considered. A general formula of composite roughness coefficient and the auto_analog between open and covered flows are introduced. Some suggestions for future studies are also given.
