Application of ANSYS to analying steel-reinforced concrete penstocks

ANSYS is used to the finite element analysis of the steel-reinforced concrete penstocks model of the Three Gorges Hydropower Station.The materials' bearing ratio before the appearance of concrete cracks,the crack-resisting load,the crack's width and the safety factor of structure's overload are obtained by FEM;and they are compared with the experimental results.It is shown that the results from the FEM are basically consistent with that from the test.Finally,some conclusions are drawn so as to offer reference for other projects.
