Inlet/outlet model test of pumped-storage power stations

YANG Xiaoting,ZHANG Qiang,DENG Zhaohui(State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science, Wuhan University,Wuhan 430072,China)  
Some laws of design of intake/outlet model,distribution of flow velocity and discharge,simulation of trash rack and head loss,are drawn by analyzing the designs and model test results of several pumped-storage power stations in China.The laws are drawn on the basis of satisfying the hydraulic parameters and flow state at two states of power generation and pumping for the construction of intake/outlet.According to the laws,some engineering and non-engineering measures for improving flow pattern of storage reservoirs and avoiding vortex are suggested so as to offer reference in design.
