Forecasting of water temperature in downstream reach of Tankeng Hydropower Station

The downstream reach of Tankeng Hydropower Station is a key protection area of Pelochely bibroni.Vertical two-dimensional water temperature mathematical model was used to simulate the discharged water temperature of Tankeng Hydropower Station;and one-dimensional unsteady flow and water temperature mathematical model was used to forecast the changing water temperature along the downstream reach,where the Pelochely bibroni protection area was covered.Computed results indicate that it is needed to adjust the intake elevation to make the temperature of discharged water close to the nature water temperature.
