Study of Working Principle in Elastoplastic State of Penstocks in Dams with Soft Layer

Penstocks in dams arc one kind of conduits widely used in power stations.With the developments of power stations of large capacity with high head, the design theory and methods used now have been becoming more and more difficult to meet cnginccring rcquircments. By,means of experiments of two models, this paper has veal fied the idea and method of penstocks in dams working in elastoptaltic state.It has big significance for bringing penstocks into full play,improving anti-cracking safety of concrete dam and overcoming difficulties in constructions of pcnstocks in dams with largc diameter and high bed.
