Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy-a threat to the safety of imported cosmetics

This paper presents a comprehensive introduction and description of the studies on pathological mechanism and spread approach of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy,BSE and Creuzfeldt-Jacob Disease,CJD.Based on such introductions and combining with the study of the application of extracts material of animal easy to be polluted in China,the author discusses the possibility that cosmetics imported from the epidemic-stricken areas are polluted.A total prohibition of such cosmetics containing the extracts material of animals coming from epidemic-stricken areas will help prevent BSE entering into China and safeguard the health of Chinese consumers.The information provided in this paper offers an useful reference for health administration to exercise effective control and management of such polluted imported-cosmetics.
