Detection of Typhoid Vi Antibody by Passive Hemagglution Test

Zhang Hezhan et al (National institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products,Beijing 100050)
The authou isolated and puified the Vi polysaccheride from Citrobacter. This polysaccharide posses sed the immunity of Salmonella typhi Vi polysaccharide, but didn't contain the O,H antigen of S.typhi. Using the purified Citrobacter Vi for Passive hemagglution, it got good results both in specility and sensitive. The Vi working-concentration was very small, only 0.05μg/ml. Using the fresh sheep blood cell, the agglution pattern was fine. With this method, the author decteced 106 students'serologic response to typhoid Vi polysaccharide veccine, seroconversions was 89%. this result implicated that the typhoid Vi capsular polysaccharide vaccine we used had good immunogenicity.
