HPLC method used for determinating the content of residual EDTA disodium salt in viral vaccines

Luo Li-hong,Xu Ying,Gao Xue-jun et al.(Lanzhou Institute of Biological products,Lanzhou 730046,China)
High-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) was used for the determination of EDTA disodium salt remained in viral vaccines.EDTA disodium salt reacts with FeCl3 to form a stable complex,NaFe EDTA,which generate apparent absorption at 257nm wavelength. After isolating other component with C18 column, five grade calibration curves were established by external standard method. The results showed that this a accurate, rapid way and can be used to detect residual EDTA disodium salt in viral vaccines.
