Carrier Frequency Synchronization for OFDM in High Mobile Environment

Based on analyzing OFDM signal model of carrier frequency offset, an efficient algorithm of carrier frequency synchronization using one OFDM preamble symbol is presented. The cycle prefix correlation is combined with the preamble symbol correlation in the algorithm. The residual carrier frequency offset in the channel is compensated using channel estimation and equalization. This method is investigated into physical link implementation for carrier frequency estimation and synchronization. Simulation results show that the system attains perfect performance in carrier frequency synchronization on wireless multipath Rayleigh channel with vehicle velocity 120 km/h.
