Classic-Prophecy Combination And Interpretation of Classics By Prophecy: Ideological Characteristics of Confucian Classics In Eastern Han Dynasty

Since Liu Xiu's reign, Emperor Guangwu in the Eastern Han dynasty, classics and prophecies combined with each other and interpretation of Confucianist classics was given by prophecies, which was epidemic in ideology and culture all through the Eastern Han dynasty. Guided and stipulated by this trend, all the political prophets,?necromancers, academics on classics and famous scholars followed this trend in their learning and mentality. It became a popular mode of thinking in the Eastern Han dynasty.
