Computer Simulation of the Exhaust Gas Dynamic Processes of Small Two-stroke Gasoline Engines

Based on the unsteady flow gas dynamic theory,this paper sets up a mathematical model for the exhaust system of small two-stroke gasoline engine and simulates the exhaust gas dynamic processes by using the method of characteristics.The calculated pressure-wave diagrams for the exhaust pipe are quite in conformity with the measured ones,so both the model and the method are correct and can be used to design the exhaust dynamic effect system for small two-stroke gasoline engines.
