A Study of the Springback of Multi-point Forming for Thin Sheet Metal

Multi-point forming(MPF) is a flexible manufacturing technology for three-dimensional sheet metal forming.Springback is a problem that must be solved in multi-point forming.The springback processes are simulated based on explicit-implicit algorithm in this paper,and the MPF processes of the cylindrical surface and sphere with different thickness under different curvature radius are simulated.The trend and distribution of springback and its distribution under different conditions are obtained.These results provide significant guidance to the application of multi-point forming technique.
