HU Gen,HUANG Wenjie(Department of Respiratory Medicine,Guangzhou Military General Hospital,Guangzhou 510010,China)
Nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB) is an important transcription factor,is able to combine the fixed nucleotide sequences of muti-gene promoter region to activate gene transcription. It has been show that NF-κB participates in inflammation, immune response, apoptosis, and other stress reactions.Recent studies found that the excessive activation of NF-κB is closely related to the occurrence and development of severe community acquired pneumonia. Thus, the regulation of NF-κB will become an important method to treat severe community acquired pneumonia.
