Preliminary study on dif erentially expressed microRNA in atrial tissues from patients with atrial i brillation

Objective: To analyze the differentially expressed microRNAs(miRNA) in atrial tissues from patients with atrial fibrillation by gene chip technology and to lay a foundation for studing its role in the development of atrial fibrillation. Methods: The miRNA gene chip was used to detect the miRNA expression level in patients with atrial i brillation and without atrial i brillation. Quantitative real time PCR(qRT PCR) was used to verifythe dif erential expression of microRNAs.Results: h e results of miRNA gene chip showed that there were 26 dif erentially expressed miRNAs in the atrial i brillation group compared with the non atrial i brillation group. Among them, the expression levels of 16 miRNAs were up regulated while 10 of them were down regulated. h e result of miRNA gene chip was in consistent with the result of qRT PCR. Conclusion: h e dif erential expression of miRNAs exists in the atrial tissues of patients with atrial i brillation.
