Progress in study on the role of Wnt signal pathway in vascular calcii cation

Vascular calcification(such as chondrogenic or osteogenic development) is an active, regulated and intricate process that involves in the pathogenesis of many diseases, including atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. It is indicated that Wnt signaling pathway participates in a pathophysiological process of cardiac development, myocardial hypertrophy, atherosclerosis and angiogenesis in a manner of paracrine/ autocrine. In recent years, the role of Wnt signaling pathway in vascular calcification has been attracted great at ention.
