Research progress in signaling pathways related to epilepsy

ZANG Yujing;ZHAO Chunling;Department of Physiology, Luzhou Medical College;
Signaling pathways are involved in biological growth and development, and are closely related to the occurrence of diseases. Recent studies have shown that there are several signaling pathways are associated with epilepsy, such as phosphoinositide3 kinase/ serine threonine kinase(PI3K/Akt), the mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) and Wnt. h ese signaling pathways are involved in the pathologic changes of epilepsy through regulation of protein synthesis, cell proliferation and apoptosis. This article summarizes the progresses regarding epilepsy and the associated signaling pathways.
