Objective: Determine the applicability of Narcotrend index(NI) and bispectral index(BIS) on general anaesthesia. Methods: A total of 126 patients under general anaesthesia operation were studied after classified into three groups, i.e., group CK, group NI, and group BIS. The vital signs of patients were monitored during and after the anaesthesia operation. Results: The heart rate, mean arterial pressure, and anaesthesia dosage were controlled by in NI or BIS treatment. The awakening time and awareness rate were reduced in BIS treatment; while the extubation time was shortened in NI treatment. Conclusion: Recovery of patients benefits from controlled anaesthesia with NI and BIS, thus is recommended for general anaesthesia operation.
