The Research on the Electrical Field Distribution in the Insulation of Impregnated Paper Insulated Direct Current Cables

In this paper the problem of the field distribution in the insulation of imp- regnated paper insulated d.c.cables under different loads and different electrical stresses is studied with experimental methods.Experimental results show that the electriral field distribution in the insulation of impregnated paper insulated d.c. cables obeys the classical theory,i.e.the electrical field distribution in the insu- lation is determined the specific resistance of the insulation itself. The dependence of the specific resistance of impregnated paper upon the tempera- ture is also studied by experimentaly and thus the result obtained is used to calculate field distribution in the cable insulation. Calculated electrical field distributions agree with that directly measured on cable samples.
