Study on Characteristic of the Two-Phase Flow of Refrigerant in a Capillary

The flow of refrigerant in a capillary was divided into subcooled liquid region, metastable liquid region and twophase flow region. In the twophase flow region, liquid and vapor refrigerant are in nonequilibrium state. A twofluid model was established to simulate the flow of refrigerant in the twophase flow region. The distributions of pressure, temperature, velocities of vapor and liquid were obtained with this model. The results show that the velocity difference of liquid and vapor increases along the capillary in the twophase flow region and the the mass flow rate increases with the rise of the inlet pressure and subcooled degree.
