Bilateral oophorectomy or destroyingof ovarian function (e. g., radiotherapy ) is sometimes carried out in some women's diseases of reproductive age. This results in severe endocrine imbalance. It is the objective of the investigation to evaluate the value of ovarian autotransposition in restoring ovarian function. Ovarian autotransposition (toaxially region) was peiformed in two patients withcervical carcinoma, followed by pelvic radiotherapy.Postoperative evaluation of sexual hormone andvaginal exfoliation cell smear were undertaken in thefollow-up study. The results showed that serumconcentration of sexual hormone was within normalrange and no climacteric symptoms developed. It isconcluded that ovarian autographing is an effectiveway of reserving ovarian function for patients without ovarian lesion.
