Objective To clone target gene MOMP from cultured cells infected with chlamydia trachomatis serovar D. Methods The genome DNA of chlamydia trachomatis serovar D was extracted from cell culture and subjected to PCR as template. The MOMP gene was amplified and recombined with plasmid pUCmT. The recombinant plasmid pUCmT/MOMP was identified by restrictive enzyme digestion, PCR amplification and sequencing. Results The complete MOMP gene was cloned successfully and inserted into pUCmT plamid. Conclusion The target gene cloned from chlamydia trachomatis serovar D might provide a ready source for vaccine preparation.
