Objective To observe the apoptosis rate of keratinocytes in aging rats and the interventional effect of pollenpini on apoptosis. Methods The keratinocytes derived from SD rat back skin were used as the studied cells and observed by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end-labeling(TUNEL) for the apoptosis rate differences between rats of different age and the pollenpini-fed aged group. Results The apoptosis rate in the infant group, adult group, aged group and the pollenpini-fed aged group was(73.54950±4.43768)%,(59.50910±4.78150)%,(88.97800±3.70225)% and(61.82000±7.78460)%,respectively.The apoptosis rate in the infant group fell between those in the adult group and the aged group, and the apoptosis rate in the aged group was the highest(P0.01).Compared to that in the aged group, the apoptosis rate in the pollenpini-fed aged group decreased significantly(P0.01).Conclusion With aging the apoptosis of keratinocytes gradually increases, and pollenpini has a certain anti-aging effect.
