LI Wan peng (Department of Politics law, Xianyang Teachers′ College, Xianyang 712000,China)
The theory of survivalism is a basic theory in Marxist philosophy. Due to the substantial mode of thought, the traditional philosophy lapsed into metaphysics on social essence. Owing to the fact that Marxist philosophy adheres to the practical mode of thought, it demonstrates the characteristics of the theory of survivalism concerning the comprehension of social essence. The characteristics of the theory of survivalism were initially demonstrated through the comprehension of the social essence in the dialectic relationship between humans and social history by means of the mode of thought against traditional philosophies, originally during the establishment and development period of the Marxist philosophy. The characteristics of the theory of survivalism in Marxist philosophy were eventually established through its attributing social ilfe to life style of human beings.
