BREEDING MONOSOMIC LINES OF WINTER WHEAT OF IB/IR TRANSLOCATION LINE

With. 21 monosomic lines of the “Chinese Spring” Wheat as the hereditary background, the monosomic lines of IB/IR translocation line wheat 73^36^9-lhave been developed through seven backcrosses. Nullisomic obtained in breeding the monosomic lines of wheat 73(36)9-1 are discussed in detail in the paper. The results checkcrossed with the ditelosomic lines of “Chinese Spring” indicate that 20 monosomic lines and 19 nullisomics were karyotype 20" + t except that 2A monosomic plants was 19″ + 1t ″+ 1′, while the so-called “univalent-shift”has occured in 2A monosomic lines.The 3B nullisomics are also correct on the basis of traits of failure pairing normally at MI of meiosis.The paper describes the morphological characteristics of 20 monosomic lines and their nullisomic plants and discusses them -heterogeneity of IB chromosome and differences in morphological traits between monosomics and nullisomics.
