Advances in the effects of genetic regulation of lignin on chemical components and microstructures of wood cell walls

Lignin is the second most abundant chemical components of wood cell walls and it plays a key role in the metabolism and growth of trees,but it also hinders the utilization of woods as lignocellulose materials.To provide scientific basis for breeding and cultivation of fast growing plantations with high quality,the paper elaborated the advances in the effects of genetic regulation on chemical components and microstructures of wood cell walls,and also summarized future research prospects.
