The study of correlation between the high-risk type of human papillomavirus infection and HIV/AIDS

GUO Xiao-feng,LI Jing,HE Hao-lan,et al.(The Eighth People's Hospital of Guangzhou,Guangzhou,Guangdong 510060,China)
Objective To determine the characteristics of high-risk type of human papillomavirus(HRHPV)infection in HIV/AIDS patients, and to provide clues and evidence for the HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment among patients with cervical cancer. Methods Thirty four HIV/AIDS cases visiting our hospital from April 2009 to May 2010 were detected for HRHPV and were compared with 33 non HIV cases who were detected for HRHPV.Results The risk for HRHPV infection among HIV / AIDS patients was far higher than among non HIV cases.Of the 34 HIV/AIDS patients 16 cases were tested as HRHPV positive(47.05% 16/34);of the 33 non HIV cases 5 were positive for HRHPV(15.15%,5/33).The probability of HRHPV infection between HIV/AIDS patients and non-HIV cases had significant differences(P0.01).Conclusion HIV/AIDS patients infected with HRHPV may be associated with CD+4 T lymphocyte count,CD+4T lymphocyte count/CD+8 T lymphocyte count ratio, and the staging of AIDS.HIV positive women should be treated as a high-risk population, and routine HRHPV screening should be taken for them.
