Study on the anti-aging effect of polysaccharides from Gymnadenia conopsea

Objective To observe the effect of polysaccharides from Gymnadenia conopsea on aging mice induced by D-galactose.Methods 60 male and female Kunming mice were randomly divided into 6 groups:normal group,aging model group,positive group(21.6 mg·kg-1),high-dose and medium-dose and low-dose groups(0.20,0.10 and 0.05 g·kg-1)of polysaccharides from Gymnadenia conopsea.In addition to the normal group,the rest of the mice were injected subcutaneously with 0.5 g·kg-1 D-galactose solution.After 60 days,the activities of total-superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)、catalase(CAT)、glutathione perioxidase(GSH-PX)and the concentration of malondialdehyde(MDA)were measured in serum,liver tissue and brain tissue,respectively.The weight of the mice was weighed and the liver index was calculated.Results The high-dose groups of polysaccharides from Gymnadenia conopsea can improve the activity of T-SOD,CAT and GSH-PX in serum,brain tissue and liver tissue of aging mice(P0.01,P0.05),reduce the MDA content(P0.01,P0.05),significantly increase the weight of aging mice(P0.01),and increase the liver index of aging mice(P0.05).Conclusion Polysaccharides from Gymnadenia conopsea have anti-aging effects,and the mechanism may be related to improving the antioxidant enzyme activity of the body,and to inhibiting the reduction of lipid peroxidation.
