Study on the stability of phloretin by HPLC

Objective To study the stability of phloretin under different conditions.Methods The classical isothermal method was used to study the stability of phloretin in different pH buffer solutions,and the effects of antioxidants,acids,alkalis,light,strong oxidation and high temperature on the stability of phloretin were studied.HPLC method was used to determine the solubility of phloretin in different solvents.Results Phloretin was unstable in alkaline and strong oxidizing conditions while was stable in acid and high temperature.Conclusion Phloretin have different stability in diverse conditions,this should be considered on practical application.Phloretin is stable in the acidic environment.The stability of phloretin decreased in turn at the solution of 0.1 mol·L~(-1) HCl,pH3.0,pH4.0,water,pH5.0,pH6.0,30 mL·L~(-1) H2 O2 and pH7.0.This is of great significance for the development of phloretin and its related products,and this should be considered on practical application.
