Effects of different routes of amikacin administration on the efficacy of treating end bronchi tuberculosis

Objective To investigate the effect of amikacin in nebulized administration for therapy end bronchi tuberculosis(EBTB).Methods In study,38 adult patients with EBTB were randomly divided into 2 groups:observation group(19 cases)and control group(19 cases).Amikacin was administered intravenously and nebulized in observation group and only intravenously in control group.The samples of serum and sputum were collected and the concentration of amikacin was determined by RP-HPLC.The total effective rate and sputum negative conversion rate of the 2 groups were compared.χ2 square test was used to test the statistical difference.Results In the observation group,the peak concentration of amikacin in sputum was 345.2±85.46μg·mL-1,higher than 0.094 6±0.034 5μg·mL-1 in control group(P0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 95%,higher than the control group of 58%(P0.05).The negative rate of the observation group was 89%,higher than that of the control group 53%(P0.05).Conclusion The results demonstrated that amikacin in nebulized administration is possible to be a safe and effective treatment in EBTB.
