Study on deformation control of tunnel face in deep soft rock tunnel

Taking the Xincigou tunnel project in Hanzhong Shanxi as an example, this paper studies the deformation patterns of tunnel face under 3 different scenarios including different supporting parameters, different step lengths and different bench heights. Through three-dimensional numerical simulation and field monitoring data analysis, it makes the following conclusions: for deep buried soft rock tunnel, the extrusion deformation of the work face is large and the deformation speed is fast. The extrusion deformation of the work face is affected significantly by the initial supporting parameters and the excavation height of the upper step section. The initial support parameters and reduction of the upper step height to control the deformation of the face should be strengthened in the actual construction process so as to ensure the overall stability of the tunnel.
