Toughening of intermetallic compounds induced by superlattice phase transition
Zheng Maosheng;Liu Yunpeng
The effect of the substitution of clements on the critical temperature of intermetallic compounds is studied. The relation among the temperature of phase transition, the long-range-orderness, and the interface energy is discussed. Furthermore, the mechanism of the toughening of intermetallic compounds is proved to be superlattice phase transition. This achievement has laid a theoretical foundation for the ductilizing and application of intermetallic compounds.
