A method for the estimation of the time difference of arrivals of the spread spectrum communication signals

FENG Xiao ping (School of Electronic Engineering, Xidian Univ., Xi′an 710071, China)  
Based on the spectral correlation theory, a model and algorithms of time difference of arrival (TDOA) estimation for cyclostationary signals are presented first, and then this model is used for the TDOA estimation of the spread spectrum communication signals in the highly noisy and jamming environment. Some typical results of simulation using a computer are given finally. It is shown that this method can find wide use in the location and direction finding of the spread spectrum communication signals.
