FT IR Diffuse Reflectance Study of Metalloporphyrin Complexes and Their NO Adsorbates

Results on the metalloporphyrin (MTPP) complexes (M=Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu), the complexes supported on TiO2 and their NO adsorbates obtained by FT-IR Diffuse Reflectance Method are reported in this paper, Metalloporphyrin complexes synthesized as the reference have deep colour and poor transparency for IR beam, and always exist as fine needles or powder. Therefore, Diffuse Reflectance FT-IR is proper for determining their spectra. The results show that Fe and Co form metalloporphyrin complexes more easily than Ni and Cu, and FeTPP and CoTPP chemisorb nitric oxide easily at room temperature. The changes of their spectra had been observed and the peaks of NO adsorption had also been found. No effect of the support TiO2 is observed on the IR feature of these complexes and the adsorption of nitric oxide.
