An Algorithm Based on the Chain Code for the Logs Image Foot Diameter Seized

According to the method of getting the logs images and their characteristics,the paper improves the eight-direction chain code contour tracking technology.Present an algorithm which beginning from the center point of the image,scan down vertically to get the start point of the contour tracking,and find the target outline automatically with a constraint condition.The experimental results prove that the algorithm works efficiently.Based on the chain code sequence of the target outline and the coordinate information of the boundary points,it proposes a method to determine the center point of the target outline,the shortest diameter and other log scaling parameters.
