(Purpose) To study the relationship between the expressions of MTSl/p16,p53 gene Product and cell prolitferation of human lung carcinoma. (Methods) The expressions of p16、p53 protein in 62 cases human lung carcinoma, were studied by SP immunohistochemical metbod, (Results) The positive expressions of p16 and p53 protein were 58. 1 % and 59. 7% respetively. A significant correlation was found between low expression of p16 protein, over expresaion of p53 protein and lymph node metastasis (P<0. 05).Meanwhile, a significant correlation was found between low expression of p16 protein, over expression of p53 protem and cell proliferation index of hutnan lung carcinoma(P<0.05). No signthcant corrdation between the expression of P16 and p53 protein was found.(Conclusions) The results suggested that low expression of p16 protein and over expression of p53 protein play an important role in cell proliferation in lung carcinoim.
