Comparison of Intravenous PCA and Epidural PCA in Lower Abdominal Postoperation

urpose〕To Compare the clinical effect of intravenous PCA(PCIA) and epidural PCA(PCEA) in one hundred and twenty patients with lower abdominal surgery postoperation.〔Methods〕120 patients were randomly divided into two groups,each group contained 60 patients:group PCEA and group PCIA.Analgesia effect, dosage and side effect were monitored for 48~72 hours after operation.〔Results〕All patients in two groups were satisfactory with the postoperative analgesia.Analgesia dosage in group PCIA were significantly higher than that in group PCEA.The side effect of sleepiness、delirium、respiratory depression,et al. in group PCIA was more than that in group PCEA(P0.05)〔Conclusion〕For postoperative analgesia in low abdominal surgery,PCEA is better than PCIA.The dosage and the side effect of PCEA is less than those of PCIA.
