[Purpose] To investigate the expression of c-Met and HIF-1α in thyroid papillary carcinoma and their clinical significance. [Methods] The expressions of c-Met and HIF-1α in tissue samples from 36 cases with thyroid papillary carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemical staining, and their relationship with clinicopathologic characteristics were analyzed. [Results] The positive expression rates of c-Met and HIF-1α in thyroid papillary carcinoma tissues were 97.22% and 86.11% respectively, which were significant higher than those in cancer adjacent tissues or adenoma tissues (P 0.05). Expressions of c-Met and HIF-1α showed a positive correlation, but no correlation of their expressions with tumor size, clinical stages or lymph node metastasis. [Conclusion] The expressions of c-Met and HIF-1α upregulate in thyroid papillary carcinoma tissues, with positive correlation.
