A Study on Driver's Risky Driving Behavior and Its Influencing Factors

ZHENG Dong-peng;JIANG Zu-hua;ZHANG Qian;School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao tong University;
To study the causes and influencing factors of the Chinese driver's risk driving behavior, 349 drivers are investigated with the modified Manchester Driver Behavior Questionnaire(DBQ); A Four-dimensional factor structure model is obtained through Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA), and named as cognitive errors, violations, unintentional errors and memory loss. The model is verified by Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA). The research on relationship between gender and driving behavior shows that male drivers are more prone to violations, while the female drivers' unintentional error behaviors occur more frequently than male drivers. The relationships among variables, statistical information of the drivers, the four-dimensional factor and crash accidents are researched through the correlation analysis. A traffic accident prediction model is constructed based on Logistic regression analysis and the results show that violations and age are two important parameters for traffic accident.
