NEW MATERIALS OF TAKLAMAKANIINAE FROM THE MIDDLE ORDOCICIAN OF XINJIANG

Zhang Tairong (No.1 Regional Geological Surveying Party, BGMR, Xinjiang)  
The Taklamakaniinae subfamily are more widely distributed in the western part of Northern Tanshan Mountains, the Kuruktag Region, the Altun Montains and the Tarim Basin of Xiojiang. This paper deals with 3 generd and 5 species of the Middle Ordovician trilobites, including 1 new genus and new specises. These are listed as follows: Taklamakania tarimensis Zhang W., T. xinjiangensis (Zhang), T. tarimheensis (Zhang), Nanshanaspis intermedia (sp. nov. ), Kongqiaoheia rotundata (gen. et sp. nov. ) Description of new genera Kongqiaoheia Zhang gen. nov. Diagnosis: With dorsal cxoskeleton small. Dorsal shield circular or subeircular in outline. Cephalon semicircular. Glabella convex, fusiform in outline, with short and veriest faint glabellar furrows. Occipital furrow narrow, slightly curved in the middle, occipital ring veriest narrow and convex. Dorsal furrow deep and broad. Alae small. Genae moderately convex, subtriangular, with a pair long genal spines. Posterior marginal furrow deep; posterior border narrow and convex. Thorax composed of 3 segments, axial lobe narrow, pleural lobe broad and flat, pleural and interpleural furrows deep, pleural segments flat and straight. Pygi-dium semicircular, slightly convex. Axial lobe narrow, conical, reaching to the border, with 9-10 axial rings. Pleural regions broad, with a pair distinct ring-shaped longitudinal furrow. Border slight. Type species: Kongqiaoheia rotundata gen. et sp. nov. Remark: This new genus is similar to Taklamakania Zhang W. T. 1980, but it absnts frontal glabellar spine, the pleural furrow of pleural field of pygidium, with a pair distinct ring-shaped longitudinal furrow. The new genus differs from Nanshanaspis Chang et Fan in the outline of the dorsal shield, axial lobe of pygedium divided rings, pleura field with a pair distinct ring-shaped longitudinal furrow. The genus differs from Pseudampyina Ju 1980 in glabella protrudes. Its glabe-lla protrudes have only a short distance in front of cephalon, axial lobe of pygedium with a large number of segments, pleura field smooth, with a pair distinct rin-gshaped longitudinal furrow. Age and distribution: Early Middle,Ordovician, Xinjiang.
