The Application of EQS in Applied Linguistics——The Case of the Relationships Among Learning Strategies, Learning Belief and Self-effect

EQS,one of application softwares for the Structural Equation Modeling,can be used to analyze the complex relationships among multi-variables at the same time,and solve non-normal distribution and missing values with multi-fit indexes.Although EQS hasn’t been widely used in applied linguistics in recent years,this article briefly reviews the literature in this area,and introduces the basic theory and operational steps of EQS;moreover,it illustrates the detailed steps of modeling the relationships among learning strategy,learning belief and self-effect by using EQS,so as to provide implications for applied linguistics and English teaching research.
