Points of Concern for the Excellent Course Development

Since the year of 1999,the higher education in China has witnessed two changes: a dramatic increase of student population and a rapid decrease of teaching quality.To deal with these problems,new policies and measurements have been taken,one of which is the Program of National Excellent Courses.Encouraged by its initial achievements,this program is currently resumed.One of the principles advocated by the new program is form transformation and quality enhancement".Guided by this principle and being participants of this program,we took a problematic plus deconstructive discourse pattern and summarized 40 points of concern in this work.By doing so,we wanted to provide a new approach to developing excellent courses in general and improving the quality of English writing classes at the tertiary level in particular.
