Reflection on the Several Important Issues in the Development of Learning Sciences

Learning sciences is an emerging research field developed in recent thirty years, aiming at answer the foundamental questions of "how people learn and how to promote effective learning" by building a "bridge" among mind, brain and education. The development of learning sciences involved several important issues. This paper discussed these issues from the six aspects of the academic definition, the historical origin, importance, the relationships with the educational neuroscience and educational technology, the core research content and the future development. It was expected that the reflection on the several important issues in the development of learning sciences could promote the further study of learning sciences, attract more researchers interested in learning from different fields to participate in the research of learning sciences, jointly exploring and advancing the educational reform driven by learning sciences.
